Main wine bottle sizes:
- Benjamin (187.5 ml)
- Perfect for a single glass of wine, ideal for picnics or individual tastings.
- Half bottle (375 ml)
- Equivalent to two glasses of wine, suitable for a dinner with a partner or to taste a wine without committing to a full bottle.
- Standard bottle (750 ml)
- The most common size, enough for five wine glasses. It is the most used format in most markets.
- Magnum (1.5 liters)
- Equivalent to two standard bottles. Popular for celebrations and special events due to its ability to better preserve wine.
- Jeroboam (3 liters)
- Contains four standard bottles. Ideal for large events or parties.
- Rehoboam (4.5 liters)
- Equivalent to six standard bottles. Used mainly for very special occasions.
Most common wine bottle shapes:
- Bordeaux
- Straight and tall, with pronounced shoulders. It is the most common and is mainly used for red and white Bordeaux wines.
- Burgundy
- Wide body and sloping shoulders. Used for red and white Burgundy wines, as well as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
- German shepherd
- Tall and slender, without shoulders. Common for aromatic white wines, especially Riesling.
- Champagne
- Similar to the Bordelaise but thicker to withstand the pressure of sparkling wine. It has a deep base and a robust structure.
- Jerezana
- Narrow and with slightly sloping shoulders. Mainly used for sherry and other fortified wines.
